Mary, The Mission Project

Mary, Mary. We are so grateful for you and your honesty. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you!

Why, you ask? When we were getting started, and our Minnesota National Guard connections told us we should help the groups that send care packages, we reached out to Mary at The Mission Project. At this point, we didn’t know what we didn’t know about shipping care packages.

Mary was one of the first nonprofits to see and use our shipping tools. Her feedback was that they sucked! LOL. We asked her why, and she told us what she needed them to do. That is how we started developing our tools to rock for the groups who send care packages. We are truly thankful for Mary’s honesty and friendship and for helping us create the best shipping tools hands-down for military shipping!!

Every nonprofit we’ve met has a story about how they got involved with sending care packages and supporting our troops. Mary’s story involves her late husband, Doug, who committed suicide after returning from service. Mary started The Mission Project and her programs to honor Doug. Her mission is to help put an end to military suicide through her programs, which include sending care packages to service members, a Freedom Fighters Support Group, a gift card, a veterans crisis fund, a quilt program, and a camp scholarship fund.

We have been known to lend an extra hand when Mary does her care package shipping and have attended events with her since she is not far from us. Her quilt program leverages resources from inmates looking to give back, and they create some pretty amazing quilts with the materials she supplies. She even ships to a group of over 50,000 Soldiers we learned about in Germany who didn’t get care packages because they weren’t in a war zone.
